hello everyone
![]() I am only one step past a total newbie to photography, I'm not at a professional level at all. I'm interested in buying a camera mainly for pics to put on blogs, and shots of things to sell on ebaY etc. Plus shots of the local area to send to family etc. I am looking for a budget P&S; I currently have an Ixus and the wife has a Powershot. One thing I find with both of them is they are slow - slow to boot up from cold, and slow between shots. I find that kids won't stay still long enough if you're waiting for the camera to be ready. And if you happen to see something in traffic or as you're passing, by the time you've got the camera out, pressed the power button and waited for the camera to be ready it's too late. I've missed a lot of funny shots because of that. Can anyone recommend a quick camera in the $200 - $300 range? thanks for any ideas

I didn't have too much trouble with shutter lag with my Panasonic Lumix TZ-3, great camera and great optics, think they're on TZ-5 now or some such.
