I've never taken pictures at a baptism, but I think it might be similar to a wedding. I assume you'll be in a church which means it might be dark, so a fast lens will be helpful. Check to see if flash is allowed or how close you will be allowed during the proceedings or if you may not be allowed to take shots during the ceremony at all.
The rest will probably be portraits of family. Just make sure you get everyone in pics that they want, a few close shots of the baby in his/her gown, and even closeups of the outfit if it is elaborate or special in some way.

Like Saralonde, I haven't shot a baptism either, but I'd also think that wedding photography tips would be helpful. You might also have a read of some of these links and see if they have some tips. Something I just learned (yeah, I know ) is that apparently the way that it is conducted can vary a lot by denomination, so if you aren't familiar with the ceremony from personal experience, you might want to search for a description of what goes on to figure out what the key moments are.

Anyway, a few links for you

1) Ask the parents what they want and expect.

2) Ask the pastor/priest/rabbi/etc what the exact ceremony is and what's allowed for you

Go directly to the sources that control the event, not web sites or friends. Those individuals in charge probably didn't read the same things you did - communicate!
