I need a lesson on how to shoot shadows and a lesson on how to shoot silhouttes.

When is the best time of the day?
Do I need to set my camera to a special setting?

Will someone please walk me through this-
Thanks

Silhouettes are easy to shoot. Although you're pretty much only going to get them at sunrise and sunset. When facing the sun, whatever you have in your foreground with sharp edges will most likely be shot as a silhouette. Just meter the background, and it will force the foreground to be black.

You can get silhouettes and shadows any time of the day; it is all about the light.

What kind of camera are you shooting with? That will give a clue as to what options you have to make the best use of available light.
