I think it's a good image
I played with it in photoshop a little, straightened the horizon and cropped in tighter to the fishing poles and cut out a bit of the blown highs in the sky. The way it's currently cropped though has a more majestic sweep. I would play with some different crops |

Why would it need a bird?

I'd be interested to view your exif data. It may be because it is an attachment, but it doesn't appear to be very sharp. Beautiful colors though!
Also, for what it's worth...you might try putting the horizon on a third line instead of dead center (which is often suggested w/ landscape shots). It also took me a minute to figure out what that was in the bottom right corner (fishing poles), so maybe a change of angle if you want to include those next time. Generally, even though its a picture of the sunset, I'd still like to see a subject. The fishing poles would be a nice subject silhouetted by the beautiful colors and reflection of the sunset. just my thoughts...

It is looking slightly over exposed to me, making the sky appear very bright.
If you used faster shutter speed you would get much deeper colors in the sky. Apart from that is is pretty good.
