I was trying to use the trees to frame the moon in this series of photos. The thing is, if I crop the image , there is so much more detail visible in the moon but I lose the framing I was trying for. I've tried different crops and can't seem to find a way to balance things. Also, I kind of thought that by framing the moon with the trees I could put it in the middle of the frame and get away with it, I'm not so sure now. I think it might be overwhelmed by the amount of space around it. What do you guys think.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() As always, thank you all for your opinions. I appreciate you taking the time to look. regards mike

Crop by all means, the last one is much better. If you are going to frame with the leaves and trees, they need to be a sharp silhouette to do the job properly.

I agree with Trader.
No offense, but the trees just look like smoke to me. Crop for sure!

So for framing purposes do you feel something like this works better ? ![]() would you still crop this photo to get a lager image of the moon in the frame ?

Yes mfreg, that crop works for me. It looks more original than the classic moon shot. Using branches to frame the moon is genius!

One and two are pretty neat. I'd crop a few inches off the top...hahahahahah, sounds like getting a hair cut.
