I prefer the second one. First one would have been ok if the sky had been more interesting

Hi and thanks everyone for your input.
Ken thanks for improving the first shot in photoshop. I don't own any filters yet so I can't get too creative at location. I took the shot with a point and shoot digital camera so don't have alot of control over some things like shutter speeds, aperture lighting and such. Also thanks for the explanation on composition.

Elvie, I would have liked better results on the lighting too on the first one. It seems to be better in the second one. I suppose by pointing at the sky it automatically underexposed the land?

I am only beginning on the photography journey and this site is a great place to start.

The 2nd one has better composition, though the horizon is not that straight (can be remedied with any post production software.
