A good friend has asked me to take some intimate portraits of her and her partner, I agreed before thinking and am now seriously packing myself, any hints on posing so neither them nor I are embarrassed completely by the whole photo shoot?

Well... Depend on the definition of intimate. You have to find out a bit more what they have in mind. If you feel that you may be embarrassed with the proposed shots just explain to them that you not confidant and embarrassed (because of the friendship), and that you may have to decline the offer.

A good friend of ours does "boudoir" photography that are tasteful...the operative word is tasteful. She does this with women who want to give the photos to their husbands or boyfriends..often as a gift. As long as you are comfortable doing it, it might be an interesting experience

First off, great idea about the list of shots wanted by the client. I find when I shoot boudoir and maternity I tend to favour my 50mm lens as it allows me to keep the focus on the faces and emotions of my subjects. Shadows and bokeh leave things to the imagination, and l little light in the right places hints at the sexual nature of the shots.

thankyou!
By intimate she meant naked from the top up. With some shots with just knickers, so no total nudity. they definitely want tasteful but sexy. I will keep in mind the 50mm, it my newest baby anyway LOL and I love it already I was thinking of using a black backdrop with just a few spotlights on them to cast some shadow. Should I also consider doing some with a white backdrop to convert to B&W and keep the lines simple? Nadi |

With extreme high-key (low-key), it's very easy to lose detail in overexposed (underexposed) areas. You could you this to your advantage in intimate areas.
I would definately bring a black and a white backdrop and try get some of both. |

sheets are amazing props for shoots like this. And she can wear a tube top if she feels uncomfortable. You can offer then the illusion of being nude but not nude.
