Found this while searching for something else. Might be helpful, especially for those just starting out.
It shows a grid for the Golden Mean, Golden Triangle, and Golden Spiral overlaying a photo that conforms to all. You change the option under the photo, when the graph changes the viewing perspective is changed. Quite neat when you can see it happen in the one photo onscreen. If you haven't used these rules they can help better your photography. For newbies, all of these rules conform to the Rule of Third's. If you divide the screen in the Railway image you will find that the side of the train on the left falls on the vertical third's division. What they do is change the perspective of the viewer depending on which rule the photographer chooses to use. NOTE: as the page loads you may get a warning message and possible danger to your PC. You can ignore this message and continue, it is generated by the system because the page needs to run a java program. I have checked teh program and it is fine. http://photoinf.com/Tools/Compositio...-Adjuster.html and here is a couple of extra's worth looking at http://www.thinctanc.co.uk/design/ph...torial_02.html http://fmphotocourses.blogspot.com/2...den-ratio.html Enjoy Last edited by RoyL; 03-12-2009 at 12:08 PM. |

So I can keep this thread in New Posts.
Here is a link looking at composition from an artists viewpoint. Everything discussed is relevant, right down to minute detail. http://photoinf.com/General/Johannes...ion_rules.html Painting is no different from photography except one uses paper/brushes/paint to produce their work the other uses camera/light. The link is from the following page. There are also many other good composition articles so it is worth bookmarking this site. Almost every rule there is is covered somewhere in these links, except articles on breaking those rules which I do often (there is an art to this). http://photoinf.com/ Enjoy Last edited by RoyL; 03-11-2009 at 08:57 AM. |

Just a warning, if anyone comes across links I have posted that have problems or lead to porn sites please let me know. I want to keep the links clean.
JiminyClickit has already told me of one link that isn't right. These porn sites use legitimate sites to then run their sites, they virtually take over the ip address or domain. I may be a bit rough, I may be a bit strange, I most certainly have a bad background, and I am juggalo, but I am a Christian of Fundamental faith and will not promote or tolerate filth. |

The problem I thought was a problem is not. When the page loads it runs a java program required for the composition. I have checked and tested it and it is safe.
Anyway, another site worth looking at. A lot of word's, like me, but worth reading what he says otherwise you will miss everything. http://www.ukphotographics.co.uk/tou...pe/ls_0501.cfm Enjoy |
