The idea of using the trees as a frame for the moon is a good one, however the the clutter in the shot overpowers the moon. Too many branches, the power lines and the fact that the moon is only partial reduces the effect. Your eyes tend to look at everything else in the photo before it comes to a stop on the moon. Possibly moving your location closer to the trees and avoiding the power lines might help.
Other then that, the idea is a good one.

Personally, I like the image darker, but I also see the trees as an integral part of the photo and therefore I don't view them as clutter, maybe a little closer cropping on the bottom. I think the photo has a sort of "ominus" feel to it , I think that's why I like it darker. The power lines are unfortunate though, they need to be gone. my 2c

The original darker version works best for me, it is much more atmospheric. I too like the way the tall trees on both the left and right frame the shot and then the eyes follow the two curved trees in the center up to the moon.

One man's rubbish (clutter) is another man's treasure. The whole thing works well, even though there are some powerlines running through the image (sometimes this cannot be helped, but does not harm the composition).

I prefer the darker toned image though it does need some tonal work done, as well as sharpening. kencaleno's version works as well, though it has lightened the deep blue of the sky (this can be worked around to lighten the shadows and maintain the midtones).

There is an annoying little light at the bottom right, a spot removal would help remove this distraction.

I like this image. Nice work.
