hi - apologies if this is not the right plac to post this. i have just bought a new lense and took some photographs. i suspect a light fall off toward the bottom left but i am not sure. i have posted a smaple picture. is there a sure way of assesing if the lens is suffering from fall off so that i can go for a replacement many thanks

There is no noticeable light fall off issues I can see, there is no vignetting problem either.
BTW, very cute model!

Check out the lens reviews on www.kenrockwell.com, he's a Nikon guy like you and does a good job of telling you which lenses have vignetting problems. It's sort of hard to tell in your examples, one is a naturally darker part of the image and the other is sort of blown out by the background light.
I wouldn't worry about it though, as Ken says that stuff only tends to matter to people who spend their time photographing color charts. You can't really see it unless you're looking for it. |
