Default Interior photography

Working in the entertainment industry and owning a fairly decent camera means I get asked to take photos of events and entertainment occasionally.

I've been asked to take photographs, as a favour to a friend, of an event happening in the Royal Horticultural Halls in Central London. Being such a historical building I thought I'd ask other people what their techniques and tips are for shooting wide scenes inside buildings?

Is there a particular focal length I should be looking at using? Or should I just play it by eye? I'd be interested in people's responses

Thanks,

David

For interior shots of homes I tend to use my Canon 17-40mm I like the ways those tend to come out.

interior?
pay attention to white balancing
and increase EV but careful not to overexpose the image
use flash slow or rear (nikon have them)
just use wide focal length the whole way
my 2 cents

Hey, thanks for your responses so far.
I was thinking of shooting in RAW, just so I don't mess up the white balancing and find I can't rectify it later on, not it's something I want to be doing!

By flash slow, do you mean slow synchro flash i.e. a slower shutter speed used with flash to bring the background out more?

set to aperture mode
set flash (built in) to rear mode or slow mode
the speed will be auto
the result will be great

the background and the object appear with no shadow

Nikon can be set like this

Ah yes, that's basically what I detailed above
My Canon doesn't have an inbuilt flash, but I'll give that a try with the external flash I have
