Good tip Neil. One of the first assignments in a class I was taking was called "The Thing Itself." We had to explore an object or setting, taking pictures from many viewpoints. We had to look for angles, patterns etc. using different focal points and aperture settings to draw focus to what we wanted others to see in the photo. It was a valuable lesson.

Thanks very much, Neil and everyone.

I actually started to do that a bit earlier this week. Some shots came out better than others, but I still didn't get any shots that really worked as a composition. I'll keep trying, though. I do enjoy it.

And it's surprising how quickly time goes by, standing by a group of palm trees with a camera in my hand.
