Default Which of these angles/comps do you prefer?

I'm going to come back to this location and get some better shots: similar angles while controlling that lens flare (hood was on, just had a pesky street light nearby), and also experiment with some more dramatic shots taken much closer to the building.

But I'm not sure which of these I like better.

Grecian Center

Grecian Center

I'm leaning towards the second one, but the more I think about it, the less sure I am.

Also, disregarding PP and the overall compositions, which angle of the building do you prefer?

...and I just realized #1 needs a slightly tighter crop on the right side

I prefer #1.... The crop is fine as is, but the fact that neither picture is straight is a little distracting. I would straighten them in post....

rather than take it like this, I think I would go for architectural abstract shots.....all the wires etc running in front will prevent you from ever getting a wow shot......get past the lines and you have some great opportunities to look at lines, curves, circles......would be excellent composition practice with a few sure winners

I like number 2 better.

I like #2, but would clone out those distracting wires. The building perspective appears a bit off, but is worse in #2.

Indeed... I did do some straightening on #2 (and a different shot from #1's position), but the angles made it difficult for me - I kept going back and forth in post trying to find what looked right to me.

I was across the street but didn't shoot straight across, I wasn't aiming perpendicular to the street... I'll have to maybe take more care of my angle when I go back and shoot the place again? This was more or less practice for me, sooooo..... Yeah.

Yep, the wires... I didn't realize how distracting they would be until going over the shots - probably the most interesting full view (at least on public land) of the building also contains all the distractions. I'm definitely gonna try some closer, more abstract shots next time.

Yeah, I'm keeping these in mind for some cloning practice when I have the time and patience for that. For now, I can't squeeze much involved photo work into my schoolworkin'.

Thank you, all!

Neither one really does it for me. The flare isn't working, and the building is just sort of there.

You can better control the flare using your hand to shade the lens more. I'm not sure you're going to get a striking overall from ground level--at least not at night.

Yeah, I knew about blocking flare with a hand or whatnot, but by the time I realized the flare was there, I was gone. I didn't carefully review the shots much on site. I'm still getting used to how flare-prone the ultra-wide is.

Thank you for input!
