Default Jump Rope

I would like to photograph a jump roping event, I want to freeze the action, and it will be inside a gym, any suggestions on the settings?

What lenses do you have? How close will you be to the action? You will probably want a fast lens that will let in a lot of light. Do you have anything with a 2.8 or faster?

well without flash I would set the camera to aperture priority and set it to F2.8.
Then adjust your ISO as high as you need to go until you can get a shutter speed of at least 1/250. Very least!
just watch your depth of field at that aperture!
If you are going to use flash I would go for some slow sync shots for a cool and interesting effect

All of this is great input. Can't wait to see some of the shots. Not sure how big the place is, but I'm imagining a pretty cool wide shot of a gym full of people surrounding three girls busting out some crazy double dutch moves.

henry... 4 iron necklaces sounds like a great marketing idea for golf fanatics. They have famous people's instrument string bracelets that go for quite a pretty penny. I'm sure someone out there would pay big bucks to wear a necklace made from Tiger Woods' PGA winning putter.

Just a thought.
