Hi All,
I know I broke the rule about placing the subject in the centre of the image here, but I had to snap it quickly to get it as the light was good and she doesn't always hold for long! My question is this. How can I crop this image to make it more 'striking' if you. I want to have the best image possible, while fixing the image being in the centre of the photo. I like the picture, but am trying to learn about rule of 3rds and composing the images while doing the photography. Feel free to edit the pic if it makes it easier to explain. ![]() Nikon D80 116mm f7.1 ISO 100 1/80 W/B- believe shady

I too would have gone for a similar crop like Michael_2010. For a horizontal crop the picture won't feel good if you place the subject by rule of thirds.

Not to jack the thread topic, but when you upload, You can mark to (no one can see). That way, anyone who is flipping through your stream, can't see edited photos, but you can still paste the HTML in the forum for people to view. I usually use the DPS uploader, but it seems to be kicking the files out as invalid.

So after that verbal detour, what do you mean by hiding the files? Is that an option I can click in flickr, or is that something done at the time of upload. |
