Default Need help with post processing - Eiffel Tower

I'm new to both this forum and photography. Recently I went on a trip to Europe and stopped in Paris shortly. Unfortunately, it was overcast and eventually rainy (got caught in the middle of a downpour minutes later on the pictured bridge). The photo I've attached is one I kind of like and I'm looking for some advice on some post processing magic to make it come back to life a little.

I'm attaching 2 photos, the first is the original and the second is what I've started playing around with in lightroom. It is not final by any means, just some ideas for colorization. I cropped the photo, tried a few of the color presets for taste, but am looking for a little direction. Using the preset, I think the colors might be a little much but I want to make sure the image doesn't look so monochrome.

Edit: Forgot to attach the most important part.

also exif data:
Nikon d5000
18.00-55.00mm f/3.5-5.6
exposure: 1/125 s @ f/5.6
focal length 55 mm
ISO 200
No Flash

No attachments? Just a general tip, for overcast shots, sometimes a B/W conversion does wonders.

Sorry if this is insultingly basic but have you tried the different white balance presets? The cloudy setting would warm it up. Then you could bump up the brightness & clarity a bit.
