I'm pretty new to the scene aswell, but I have to say I like your edit. I like the original aswell, its a very nice photo, but the colours brought into the edit have enhanced the whole scene and made it far more interesting in my opinion. One thing I might say is that the editing has been done so much so that the scene no longer looks natural, but that may be what you're going for.

i like where you're going with the edit......the color lends a sense of late afternoon......but, i do agree that it's a tad over the top......if you've saved your work on separate layers, i suggest that you ease off the color layer a bit until the sky portion looks a little less "painted"

Thanks for the advice! I was leaning towards the same way but I needed a second opinion. I edited it a bit more and I am wondering if this looks more natural/is better than the last two, or if I should keep editing.

i think you're getting there....

the path isn't as over the top as it was before.....but, that place in the sky is still not quite believable.......consider spot editing that one area......an eraser in a reduced opacity?......a gradient mask of that layer that slowly bleeds in the color from that center spot?.....a splotch of a different color there?.....

If you increase the exposure to compensate for the color layers, that will help with believability, as well as with pop. I would still ease back on the color a little more as well--a mid point between the first two is going to be pretty good.
