Recently (last week) I took my camera and took a shot, but it came very dark. Took another, the same. Changed the lens(had on camera 50mm 1.8 and changed to 18-55mm), same thing: very dark photo. Changed settings, auto and manual, took out the battery for at least 12 hours, upgraded firmware. Nothing changed. It still makes very dark photos. I wrote to a local Canon service center, and had no answer, and today I wrote to Canon in Japan. Hope they will answer. But, until then, can anyone tell me if had similar problems or what can it be? Is it the CMOS sensor?
Later I will try to put an example. So please halp me, if you can. Thanks

Could you please post an example and a way for us to see the EXIF data? The problem is that you don't know what's going on, and we need some hard evidence to figure out what the issue says.
I do agree with Os that the most likely culprit here is that you have exposure compensation dialled in. Check out the "Exposure level" in the viewfinder, and see where the "needle" on the scale is. If it's all the way to the left, you've got exposure compensation dialled in to underexpose by two stops. ![]() Secondly, are you taking pictures indoors/outdoors? Night/daytime?

Sorry guys for late answer. I didn had any internet connection...some problems with my provider.
You can see in that photo what my cameraś doing. Also you can see that even if itś an interios photo, itś 9:51AM so, itś daylight and also that room is very sunny. I plan to send my camera to Canon service in my country, they said thatś a shutter problem..even if I don believe that. Thanks again and hope that you can give me an idea about what is this.

Do yourself a favour: Go into the menu and find the "Reset Camera Settings" (or something similar) and do that. If it doesnt work, then there may be an issue.

I also did the reset, after I removed the battery and the small battery also and left the camera without any power over night. Didn't changed a thing. No matter how I make photos, they still are underexposed and as obvious, exposure time is very small.
I've sent it to a Canon service center and I post the result as soon as I find out. Thanks for the ideas and help.
