Default Winter Scene Edit

So we got alot of snow here in WV a few weeks ago and i was outside taking pictures. I came in and looked at them on the computer and saw that this one was blown out with white a little, so i figured i would make it look a little better then doing that i decided to just drastically change it. I didnt use photoshop or anything like that. I just used windows live photo gallery.

Looks pretty good, but I'm seeing haloing around the tree and horizon. I've never used windows live photo gallery to edit, maybe this could be fixed in Gimp/Photoshop/Paint Shop Pro?

Pretty good use of a (relatively!) basic touching up tool!

nice, its the beginings of an HDR-like effect. I think it does a lot for what started out as a very dull picture.

Nice. You've given it a surreal effect.
