I was driving down the road when I realized there was a pretty nice sunset on the horizon. I took a couple of pictures, then as I was leaving I saw a flock of birds flying away. I thought it would have been nice to have the birds against the sunset, so when I got home I decided to combine both pictures.
This is what I did: 1. Cropped and zoomed the sunset picture to focus on the part where you can see the horizon and the sun setting. 2. On a new layer, I opened the bird pictures. I was ok that I could barely see them because I only wanted the silouette. So I cut the birds out, blured them a little bit and pasted them on the sunset picture. 3. Deleted the original bird pictures and flattenned the image with the cut out birds. Original sunset Original birds (you can barely see them) Final results
