Default Texture it up!

Ok.. thought i would have a go at adding some textures to a photo that wasn't to great to start with in an attempt to make it more interesting

Before:
DSC_0026

After:
UQ building

If you would like to achieve something similar to these images just choose ur favorite paper texture and add it to a layer above ur original photo. Hit the magic "overlay" layer mode from the drop down button and ur done!! The affect can be increased or decreased with the transparency slider. Adjust the hue/sat of the original photo until the right colours are achieved

So you took an uninteresting image and turned it into what appears to be the same image with either a wrinkled piece of paper or plastic bag on top of it?

looks to be behind it, and I think he's trying to show that you can change the background with textures. Very nice, although maybe a little drag choice... Try something a little more... i don't know mountainous perhaps?

My thoughts exactly. I think a texture could have a complimentatry/benenficial effect on this shot, but not the texture that was chosen. Try the flickr group "textrues for layers" for a huge array of some far more interesting textures vs just crumpled up paper.

i like it a lot it give the picture some character and almost a history. A caption of what the building is and when it was built would give more of a story (just a suggestion) but personally i love it

I think it is actually quite creative what he has done. Its a bit harsh saying he has just done it up with a plastic bag.

That's the cool thing about photography, no one can really see what you see, so you can't really interpret or misinterpret other photographer's work, because no one will really know why "you" took that shot. So in a sense, photography has it's own "freedom of views" I guess you can say (relating to freedom of speech) LOL, I like the photograph though...
