The color/Black and White part is fine. the Clone needs work. Use a softer brush and watch the lines. Use the clone source pallet(I am assuming that you are using PS CS3) to adjust the source to follow the lines of the shadow of the tree.
Here is a basic video describing the pallet. You must have at least CS3. It also has controls so that you can modify the angle and the position of the source so you can get it dead on...but they don't mention it in the video. but when you see the palette, it is pretty self explanatory. : Peachpit: Using the Clone Source Palette (video) For more help, just Google "clone source palette".

There are a few here to get you started:
Photoshop Elements Techniques - Learning Center PhotoShop Elements has moved on to 7 now but the videos for 6 are still on that page. And all of the videos that are for previous versions will work for you as well. I checked out the clone tool video and all they have in PS6 is an overlay...which helps. But you can't rotate it. but what you could do there is clone on to a new layer and then rotate it that way...if it needs it. For that particular image, I tried it and didn't really have to. Since I was following the lines and angle of the tree shadow, it was relatively easy.: ![]() The road and grass texture gave me fits, but since you have the original, it won't be as big a problem for you. Where it is difficult and may need rotated is when you are cloning an eye and it needs to be flipped or rotated. Used to be, even in PS, you had to do what you will have to do, clone it on a separate layer then rotate and flip then blend it in. But CS3 changed that. What is going to be important for cloning is the blending of the edges. For that you need to use a a soft brush. Texture is also important, and paying attention to the lines. For that, I clone then crop, so that way I can see where the lines are going and possibly get some material from the area that I'm cropping out so it doesn't start repeating itself.
