Default Its all about the clouds

Weather was really bad today, raining all day so I decided to play around with the image below and here is the result. I'm happy enough with it except for maybe a little bit of noise in the after picture. Would love some feedback

Thanks for looking.....

Thank you all for your feedback. To answer some of your questions as "every day is a school day"

The original image was in RAW format so i opened this up with Elements and made 3 .tiff files. One with normal exposure the next one with -1 exposure and then the third one with +1 exposure.

I then imported all three images into Photomatrix Pro to make one image but with the 3 different exposures in it. Once in photomatrix I select Tone Mapping and changed a number of settings until I was happy with the image. I then processed the image and saved it as .jpg

I hope this explains what I did. It's my first time using photomatrix software so I'm sure I have room for improvement. But overall i'm happy with my first attempt.

P.s. do a search on YouTube for HDR it will give you some really nice ideas on how to create such photos.

Great result! I love the modoy look

I've been trying to use this method for ages and haven't managed it yet. How do you alter the exposure value? When I open my raw file in the program I use (can't remember name - it's at home & I'm at work) it gives me options to change white balance and such but not exposure value. When I tried opening it in PS Elements I couldn't even see an option to change anything at all. At the moment I've been using the AEB function on my camera but the results aren't great if there's any movement at all. Being able to use raw would get me round some of these problems. So frustrating!

Hi YorkshireRambler, I use PS Elements when you first open a RAW file it should give you the option to change exposure from a panel on the right hand side. I'm also in work at the moment so not 100% sure if you see it as soon as you open up a RAW file so when I get home I'll check this out for you and update the thread.
