Default "Lonely" (First before and after post)

I found a pair of boots all alone.
Before "Lonely"

I decided to darken it up a bit using the steps from www.photowalkpro.com Grunge tutorial.

Lonely

It was an easy and fun workflow for a PSE6 new user. Comments/criticism welcome!

Excellent touch up. The picture by itself isnt much to look at, but edited it takes on a life of it's own.

I'd actually almost be tempted to shoot it from another angle, but it works.

How would you have shot it? Straight on? From the other side? I tried lots of angles of the shot without moving the boots (that's exactly how I found them). This pic was the best out of all of them. I'm just cuirious because sometimes I miss the most obvious of shots by over or under thinking the whole thing. Any ideas are welcome and will help me be better. Thanks!

i'd agree with Genie .. a different angle

i would have gone a little closer and shot almostedge on.. so the boots take up more of the picture

OR

shot from the opposing angle.. so the boots are on the near side of the bench rather than the far side of the bench.

(but i dont know what distrcting background there may have been.

Go PSE6!!!!!
Hey .. (whisper) a side tip,
look for "grants tools".. google it or go to youtube. theres a link from there.
its an ad-on that allows masking, curves adjustment and channels..
VERY handy.. i couldnt survive without it now.
