Default Textures are addictive

And they do turn a ho-hum picture into a piece of art.

Thats a super duper shot. Will you tell us the process flow please? I want to use textures in some shots but I can't be imaginative enough probably because never used them for pp.

I used 3 or 4 different ones. It is not really important which ones. Those which look good to you, works best for you. You can find hundreds on the web. Deviantatr.com is one good resource.

Process is quite simple in functionality. Only hard thing is to judge which texture to blend how much and when to stop adding more and more layers .

The procedure:
Simply add the texture on a layer above your image and change layer blend mode to "overlay" (for strong effect) or "soft light" (for mild effect). I personally use soft light mostly.

Then if you only want the texture and not the color from the texture, de-saturate the layer.

Now if the texture is still too strong, reduce the opacity to taste; also add a layer mask to selectively reduce the texture from some image areas.

Now repeat this with more texture layers if you want to while fixing levels between adding more textures if image is getting too dark or light.

Hope this helps
