Default heavenly bamboo....

i took this image along with a few others this morning......

IMG_9321

i wasn't knocked out by anything i did, but i saw more potential in this one than the others.....

here's my edit...

IMG_9321

right off the bat, i cropped.....and then flipped the image because i wanted the light to come in from the right.....i tweaked the levels to give me a brighter and more yellow tinted image.....selected the background on a layer and set it to multiply.....selected the subject and set that to overlay.....and then the subject again and set to screen.....beneath those i did a posterized version of the bamboo, set to multiply.....and then beneath that, a sharpened selection of parts of the bamboo.....lastly, i made a few vignettes of varying sizes .....setting one to soft light, picking up an orange tint to the subject.....and the rest to multiply....

anyway, i ramble.....i hope you guys like it.....

peep,

I daresay women will also see merit in your eye for detail and effective change. I appreciate the number of steps it took to make it look like someone turned on the porch light. Or that last ray of filtered sunlight struck. Nice work, you are a virtuoso of the visual arts.

Nice! When i saw the original I thought 'what on earth is she going to be able to do with that!' () Gives a very punchy look straight away.

Beautiful transformation and a great use of post processing! I love Jiminy's description of turning on the porch light. Most lovely!

making a silk purse out of a sow's ear can be pretty damned fun.....not to mention, time consuming....
