I would have spent the time cloning out the date stamp, and done most of the edits you did. The fact that the horizon is almost off the image bothers me. I'm seeing excessive redness in the grass in the center of the picture. Could this be edited out?

I like how the sky looks. The bottom part, not so much-- I think you can tone down the colors just a bit, and don't go crazy with the cropping. Just my two cents.

Thanks for the suggestions - So i did some adjustements and worked on cropping out the date so that there would be more ground coverage in the photo and reduced the red in the gound coverage - though the sky doesn't have as much pink more of a light blue hue in it either though i kinda like it too

Lauren,
The second edit is much better. The colors in the first made for a broiling, 'angry sky', and the shadowy ground made it seem like a scene from a sci-fi movie just before the alien spaceship breaks through the clouds and touches down. Your post-post changes look natural and not overdone. I agree with skylinedrive--I would not have thought that the original could be transformed like that! I'll have to revisit some of my 'plainer' shots and see if they can come out as well as yours did. Thanks for sharing! Keith
