Default Desert HDR

This is my very first thread, so lets see what happens.

I took this one a couple of years ago when I was still living in Chile. This is the Atacama Desert, this place has a lot of amazing and beautiful landscapes and sunsets.
At that time I was learning about HDR photography and I decided to use it in a different way besides making cool photos so I tried this technique in the middle of nowhere and with plenty of sunlight.

With the camera in the tripod I took these three different photographs with different exposures:

1/500s, f3.2

1/250s, f3.2

and 1/250s, f4.5

Then using the PS HDR function I generate this composition that shows all the details and colors in this cooper mining hills:

Is kinda hard to explain the exact HDR output configuration that I used to create this photo because it's hard to remember the shape of a graphic curve.

Welcome to the forums Richard. You did an amazing job with this - you really brought out the detail in the hills. Maybe decrease the saturation just a tad, but that just my opinion. Thanks for sharing and please keep posting!

Yes, very interesting. It looks like some other planet. I only have Photoshop CS at home, so I don't have the HDR setting...I have to do it manually, something I just don't have the time or patience for right now.

I like everything but the sky. Maybe some masking would help? It just seems grainy, and you really only need the one exposure for that part of the frame.

WOW! This is just stunning. I personally wouldn't touch a thing, but then again I'm a sucker for saturation

Mmm I think that's a good call actually, just use the sky from the middle exposure..
