Default Candy!

I took this phot of my son the other day and it was so cute I had to take a crack at editing it. I have no clue what i'm doing so any hints or critiques would be extremely helpful, i'm teaching myself out of some books and websites right now! (ha ha!)

Before:

_DSC0322

After (crop, white balance reset, brightened and adjusted color of eyes, teeth and sucker, added a little frame to the edge as well. I also adjusted the saturation of the color on the sucker, but just noticed the pink is bleeding a little on the right so I may have overdone it a tad):

I also used the patch tool to fix the little dark circles under his eyes

What a cute shot! I'm no pro, but I would use the burn tool to make the backround a solid black, at least thats one way of doing it

Maybe it's just my computer, but his teeth seem pink to me. I would use the selective color tool to correct that.

his teeth were pink from the sucker I brightened them up to reduce it, but couldn't figure out how to make them look realistic, they looked weird white when I used the brush tool. I'll try it again with the tool you suggested I'll fix the background too Thanks for the suggestions
