It defenitely is a great result and I stick to what I´ve said before: "Frames and borders rule!" They really help on making photos look great!

Thank you all for your positive comments!! I've had such a mixed reaction to this here at home that I really appreciate hearing from you!! - Some people love it, some hate it - but at least it gets a response!!!

excellent selection techniques. one technique i'm currently studying is how to manipulate color channels to make selection a whole lot faster - i'm still new at it, so i wouldn't go preaching how it works, but i'm pretty sure that by isolating hues of green, you can select the flowers you have in this picture even better. they say that this technique is especially useful on high contrast subject-background pictures - but what you did here, especially with the texture you chose, well, you pulled it off. great work.

Your "after" picture reminds me of a classical painting. I love the effect of the textures!....and for the record, it is far too easy to become a texture junkie. A good texture can really tie a manipulated image together the way no amount of tweaking can, and they can also add a lot of interest...but one must be careful not to get carried away.

Thumbs up Awesome pic...

I agree that the border is distracting from the image. It's too graphic for such earthly textures.

I would like to see it without any border.

Also, I think you may have allowed too much of the background come through near the bottom stem of the plant. I don't like that I can see background elements that should be completely hidden by the stunning metal texture.

Very cool ideas here though! Just lovely.

This is a great result, I have a pic I need.... (found something I can do with!)
I think I would have left the bit facing away out of it.
