Working on landscapes

I've always felt more comfortable with photographing people, but recently found myself in the mountains and want to try my hand at landscape. If anyone has any ideas on how to improve this shot, composition, colour, etc please feel free to comment. thank you.

I like the moon and the colour on the mountain. I however don't like the dark blob of what I assume to be trees in the right middle ground, just my opinion mind you.

That's a good point.. It does make an unseemly transition. Thanks for the comment. If i had used a tripod i could have used a longer exposure and maybe that could lighten it up bit.

I will pay attention to that in the future. THx.
