The first picture could be a perfect postcard for the Louvre. A wonderfully clear shot which highlights both the old and new aspects of this great museum.

The second picture is much more interesting. Tight symmetry on all sides and the immediate theme of the picture to me was structure and light. The focus of the light seems to be the Pyramide du Louvre but yet everything is glowing, in a sense, all objects within the horizontal band from the plaza to the skyline seem to be competing to illuminate - and this, for me takes away from the center, which you caught in its brilliance.

I fooled around with the image for a moment, lightening it up and making the Pyramid be like a lamp which illuminates everything on the plaza.

I feel that this gives the picture greater depth and a loosened symmetry - not that it needs these things because it is a great picture in its own right but I guess my critique is that the pyramid originally appeared to be just another object equal amidst all the light and color. My feeling is that it should stand out, like a beacon, as if it illuminates everything else.

Sorry about the 2 pic for post (guess that´s what you meant). I just posted than together because I tought the pictures are about the same theme and it would make more sense to put them together rather than creating a new post for it. But I´ll pay attention to the rules from now on.

@ jdwalz

Hi,

Thanks for your opinion.

I really like the 1st one too, although I can see some noise on the sky (better seen here).

About the 2nd one, I totally understood what you meant n really liked the results of your post processing. I tend to not post process my shots , first, because I can´t really do it that well and, second, cause I guess Im kinda old school (despite being 21) n still think that what you get from the camera should be enough an if it isnt then you should just improve your skills or get better equipment rather than post processing.
I think it is a pretty drawback point of view n that I miss a lot o opportunities to improve my shots, just like you did...

But what can I say...You cant always have it all, right?

Nice shots bruno, I prefer the second image and your original version more than the edited version posted by jdwalz (no offence). To me unless you're looking for a particular effect, night exposures should capture the natural scene. IMO this is what you have done. Excellent!!

@ Ewie

Thanks for your comment. As said on my previous message, I totally agree with you on "what you shoot is what you get" thing.
