Assignment: Everyday artifacts

While DPS readers' everyday may have many similarities, there would be as many differences - which makes for a very interesting assignment.

Smile Assignment : Everyday Artifacts

Hello Everyone,
I am very new, very fresh to photography. I like taking pictures, but never thought of improving my skills. This is my first ever forum in photography and first assignment...

I like pictures in black background with the main subject in bright colors.. something like a skyline at night.. So I experimented with the little lamp....

EDIT: I use regular Point & Shoot camera..Canon SD1000...

Hope ya'll like my start... Suggestions welcome..

Thanks

How about a glass of orange juice? That's pretty ordinary.

Here comes the sun

This assignment really fits in well with my habit of sitting around the house taking photos of things in it.

Turn it on!

Most of this Flickr set of mine covers objects around my house. I did say it was a habit.
