![]() It's been 2 assignments since I last posted..feels like forever! Everyone's coming up with AMAZING photos. Feels like the community is just running at a great pace and bettering as a whole. This was taken last minute without even considering it to be a "self portrait" per se, but it just so happens to be one . I was fascinated by the shadows water casts and had my man press the shutter button..and making sure he got the shadow on the wall..without flash (how do you do that?) In AV mode...Merged two different shots after some color post processing and after darkening the blacks considerably. exif: Shutter speed: 1.3 sec Exposure Program: Aperture Priority F-Stop: f/4.5 Flash: did not fire Date: 2009-03-10 |

Well, I'm only new to dSLR photography. Found this site an amazing source of inspiration. Only just ventured onto the forums the other day when I saw the "Assignment" link in the last email --- figured why not. I was bored, I've been feeling less than perfect (only sinus and a cold, don't worry --- the picture below is not a reflection of my state of mine), so figured "Well, I don't want a full shot of me, let's play with the lights and be weird!"
This is my favourite of my top three (the other two featuring an argument between two 'me-ghosts', and a front on portrait of me fading away), so this is mine! ![]() Thanks to bkamps14 for the inspiration! And look forward to getting my photo on more often with your encouragement! ![]() EXIF: Date taken: March 9, 2009. Camera: Canon 450D Lens: Canon EF-S 18-200 IS Exposure: 10 Ap: f/10.0 Focal length: 24mm ISO: 200 Flash: Off Photoshopped only to drain the colour and make my eyes more golden then their natural hazel colour. To mimic the previous people before me, JerInTheBox, that's an incredible shot!
Barladeanca: if you go to his Flickr (by clicking on the image), then go to his previous photo in that set ('same' photo, but in a tunnel rather than on the streets), you'll see an indepth explanation of how he did it... All I can say is... WHO THE HELL STRAPS THEIR CAMERA TO THE OUTSIDE OF THEIR CAR?! Gutsy, man. Glad the flash didn't blind you while driving! |
