Default ***Assignment: "Rule of Thirds"

I was playing with my camera that night and I saw the old watch hanging so I grab it and played with it. My husband's grandma asking what I'm doing on the floor. They told her that I was just having fun with my camera. So I hope I got the Rule of Thirds.

Assignment: Rule of Thirds

Steel Plaza Station

I have been experimenting with some basics in my photography lately. As I was working on some "motion" shots, I saw an opportunity to take a shot which made (I think) good use of the rule of thirds. Although the motion of the subway would typically be the focal point in a shot like this, by composing the shot with the sign at one of the intersecting points and the pillar forming a strong vertical line, the motion of the subway simply becomes the background and the focal point moves to the sign and to a lesser extent the people standing on the opposite platform.

This shot is unedited.

Camera: Canon PowerShot SX100 IS
Exposure: 0.25 sec (1/4)
Aperture: f/2.8
Focal Length: 6 mm
ISO Speed: 200
Exposure Bias: 0 EV
Flash: Off
Date and Time (Original): 2009:02:06 17:21:25
