The brown leaf to the right of the mushroom fell into the shot (it is Autumn after all) and the flash obligingly froze it.

Default Assignment: leaves
A few more leaf pics. This series is not taken on flat black paper as it might seem. I took my dog out for last pee of the evening and a leaf was hanging by a spider-thread in the doorway, spinning in the breeze, the dark yard behind. I grabbed my camera and snapped furiously. I used the built-in flash, other settings on auto.
