Thanks Melinda. I used the Canon 70-200 f/2.8L IS. It's my favorite lens. I wish I had used a 3.5 instead of a 2.8 aperture on this shot though and the bee's body would have been a little more in focus. Oh well...gained more experience. :-)

Thank you very much for all the wonderful comments. Out of about 300 photos I was able to get about 3 good shots. This is a great year for the California Poppies because of the amount of rain the desert received this winter. They are abundant through out the Antelope Valley. I use a Pentax K100, 6 mp, 28-300 Tamron lens. It was set at 300mm, 1/2500, F6.3, ISO 400. I cropped and Sharpened once in PhotoShop. I did not enhance the colors.
