tried a few today - never tried this method - here are the results

Those aren't too bad. Maybe try using a smaller aperature, to increase the DOF a bit, if you want the front and back of the vehicle to be in focus on angled shots, like in your example.

to keep the shutter speed around 1/60-1/125, you might have to increase your ISO speed.

also, standing futher away, and using a longer focal length will emphasis the background movement while tracking.

Out of the 74 photos I took yesterday, this is the only one that was even remotely worth saving... I hate panning...

Post Assignment: Panning

This is a practice shot I took while sitting atop a float at the St. Patrick's parade. There was another float driving past and I thought it was kind of cool how the foreground is blurred as well as the background with the further rail being in focus. I'm going ahead and placing it as my submission, in case I'm unable to grab a shot with a better subject.

I had a go at shooting some motor racing a couple of months ago. Came up with the below shot which is unedited. Super jammy and just managed to fit it in the full frame! All the rest were trash, out of focus or missed the cars completely
