Default Assignment: Rivers

This is the Solomon River, it runs through out the county and passes along the edge of town. This photo was taken at the bottom of a little dam, I was trying to catch the falling water so the focus is pretty soft on the trees.

If the water looks a little white to you, it is. There is still a thin sheet of ice across the river but the melting snow and ice have really got the water running under it!

Solomom River

Oh, and this is straight from the camera. It's a little dark because there were a lot of trees casting long afternoon shadows across the river.

Opps! Forgot to add the exif data!

Camera: Casio EX-Z850
Exposure: 0.006 sec (1/160)
Aperture: f/8.8
Focal Length: 9.5 mm
Exposure Bias: 0/3 EV
Flash: Flash did not fire

The complete data can be seen on flickr.

Good for the rest of us that this isn't in the mini-contest! Nice shot! To bad the sky wasn't completely blue for a little extra contrast. But it still looks very nice.

Debbie, Pixelfun1, Powjana, and Oliag -- Thanks so much!

It was my first real trip with my D80 (and therefore first trip with a DSLR) and I really had a blast. Hoping to go back during a different time of year and with a little more experience to get some other shots.
