Default Lucy: Rest in Peace

Our sweet senior rescue, Lucy, a pit bull / Lab mix, left us this past week after battling degenerative neuropathy for many years. She's earned her place in heaven. Picked up as a stray four years ago by the local humane society, no one knows her true age, but she was estimated to be 14 - 15 years old at the time of her passing. We had 3 1/2 wonderful years with her and we will keep her in our hearts forever. Rest in peace, sweet baby girl.

Lucy

Lucy sure has a sweet face, I am sorry for your loss. Our pets leave become members of the family and leave big holes.

Thank you for your kind words. Yes, they do indeed leave big holes in our lives and hearts when they leave us. But they leave wonderful memories which, in time, will fill and replace the terrible emptiness created by their passing.

Way too old for the contest (which is over anyway) but I thought I'd share my favorite photo of me and my dogs.

It was taken almost 10 years ago now, and Sigfreid, the one on the right, has passed on and is now chasing rabbits in that great pasture in the sky. But it's a fun shot and I love to share it.

My BFF Luke. His sister behind him.

They really just wanted to sleep in the sun, but the shoes were in the way.
