Hello peeps. Ive been browsing this board for a while now and needed an opinion.

Im looking at upgrading from a fuji 6500 but i'm stuck. Ive seen a nikon d40x with an amazing deal, flashgun bag ect, but am toying around with a canon 400d or a nikon D80.

Im going to mainly be taking photos in clubs so need something light-ish, but hopefuly will use it in the future for making a bit of money.

your opinions would be appreciated, and im looking at £1000 spendage. :D

Did you try holding all the cameras you are considering? Maybe one just feels more natural than another. All will do well in clubs depending on what lenses you get.

If you're taking photos in clubs, Canon generally has better noise reduction, which would be useful indoors.

So you could pickup a XTi with a kit lens, a 50mm f/1.8 (good for low light) and a decent flash for around that price.

I went for the canon 400d, and got a package with a flashgun and a few other bits.

My problem is my flashgun (jessops own), takes 4 aa batteries, and totals a pretty heavy weight to be carrying round for a few hours.

Know of any 'lightweight' flashguns? :)

4AA is standard . . . my SB600 is pretty light.
