Rumors are bouncing around the web at the moment of a new DSLR from Canon - the Canon EOS 40D (http://www.livingroom.org.au/photolog/reviews/canon/canon_eos_40d.php).

We've been expecting this for a while now (it doesn't take Einstein to guess the model number after a 20D and a 30D) but today Canon Hongkong posted a page on their website with the Canon EOS 40D heading. No specs or images were on the page but it's an indication that something is happening in preparation for a release!

This link http://www.canon.com.hk/en/consumer/Product/Default.aspx?series_id=15 says the Rebel XT (350D) is discontinued.

Now that the 40D is coming out, I wonder if I should upgrade? Guess it depends on the cost. Is it better to keep the camera body you have and put the money to good glass or get the new body? An ongoing question as they keep bringing out new models practically annually. Maybe 30Ds will drop in price.
Decisions, decisions...

Personally I am hoping for a 5d replacement at the PMA in march :)

me too Chris.

actually - there are some strong rumors that Canon are working on two 5d replacements with different specs. ie one more entry level full frame camera and one that takes the 5d to the next level.

however I doubt they'd release both plus a 40d plus the rumored update to the 1 series all at one time - retailers would go crazy.
