Interesting, looks like he's dreaming of getting outside.

Chlobo,
Are you in lower right? And did you focus manually?

Ha ha, wow! That is me! I have never noticed that before.
Sorry, I am new here and don't really know what you mean by focusing manually.

it means that you did not use the auto focus and had to turn the lens with your hand. Now if you have a P&S camera the dosent have interchangeable lenses. then you used auto focus.

What's a P&S?
It's only a cheap camera therefore I cannot turn the lens..

Chlobo,
It will take some time, and someone is always here with an answer. P&S is point-and-shoot, the kind of camera that does its own thing (think Kodak Instamatic). Recent versions are remarkably good, but still don't allow much experimentation. (PS is PhotoShop)
I like your photo, and wondered if your camera had focussed on the kitten or the front of the window. The reflection is sharper, and with a manual-focus you could get kitten sharper, if that's what you would like. Keep up the good work (I understand you're thinking of getting a new Canon?).

Sigh. Thanks. Everything is just so confusing. I try learning but it is just so hard.
Yes well I thought I wanted a new canon but now I don't even know. Because I don't understand all the features. And I dont want to buy one unless I know what I'm doing, because I dont want to waste all my money.
I guess what I use is a P&S. It is a Kodak C433, whatever that means. I don't think I tried to focus on anything then, it was taken a year ago, last winter, which means I probably had no idea what I was doing.
I probably tried to focus on the cat? Yes I think I did, and the reflections were just a suprise to me.
I'm sure that's it...

Chloe, yes, what you have is a point and shoot camera. It will not allow you to make some of the changes we talk about such as aperture and shutter speed, but do not worry about those now. Instead concentrate on composition, a big and important part of photography. Check the Digital Photography School blog. (http://digital-photography-school.com/blog/) You will find a section on Composition Tips. Work on composition and you will continually improve. Ask here whenever you need help. We're happy to do so!

Really cool image. Like to know more about how you achieved the fade

Personally, I never feel that learning anything is a waste of money. Sure you don't understand all the features now, but challenge yourself...jump into the deep water with both feet! When I first came to DPS I was new to computers and digital photography. It took me almost 10 hours to post my first (very horrible) picture here! There are nice people here, always willing to help. Now swim baby, swim, and dog paddling is perfectly acceptable!

Ha ha, thanks. Sorry I was frustrated when I wrote that post because of all the confusion. It's hard to ask people what some things mean because I have alot of really stupid questions that shouldn't really be asked by someone who is supposed to be at least a little bit good at taking photos.
Thanks for all your comments guys.

Chlobo,
Relax a little bit, and you'll realize the name Digital Photography School suggests this is the very place to ask questions. Ignore the feeling that anyone knows more than you. We all know different things, and you may hold some knowledge that we don't. At some point you may advise us on a subject, and we'll be better informed because you're here. That's the principle of the forum mode: each can learn and offer information as needed. If you still feel too new for threads, try the search, links, tutorials, glossaries, or do a Private Message. In a week or two, the confusion will be less, and I hope you'll feel questions and answers are simply ways to gain information.
