No secrets, no special settings, no special lens. Notice the time, though: it's true what they say about magic light, certain places, certain times. I'm giving credit to pollution because during the last two minutes of sunlight Wednesday, everything looked really good.

When I held this one-inch wide wildflower in front of a tree, facing the Sun, it looked pretty good and I was on Macro, so - Tahdahhh. Watch the skies if you have a special shot you've been wanting to enhance.

jiminy,

Nice shot, but i think this one might be able to go against the rules and crop it so the flower is dead center in the frame, maybe even a square frame. And maybe just a little lighter.

mdwsta4,

Thanks. Keeping all the white texture was the goal. Then in processing, the darker the background, the brighter the white looked to me.

mikem12188,

Thanks, and I fought against that urge for squaring it. That's my flower-framing favorite. Here I thought the stem was a part I wanted to keep.

terryjoey,

Thank you. Until you see that last light of the day on something, it's hard to imagine. I may do most flowers this way from now on. Thanks for the view.
