Hi:
I took this photo from a skull i got last november on a mexican holiday called "dia de muertos". I added lomo effect with photoshop too. Let me know if you like the photo and your thougs and critiques on how to improve it.
Thanks!

I think that it shows off the skull quite well. Just a question or two though:
What did it look like without the lomo? I can't imagine that the lomo added much since it's pretty much white on black. So I'm just wondering what it looked like without it.

Were you just trying to showcase the skull, or perhaps give it some context? If you wanted to give it more context, you probably could easily remove the black background and put the skull into another scene.

What were you trying to accomplish with this? Would definitely make it easier to recommend how to make it better :) But, like I said before, if you're trying to showcase it, then this is good. For future shots, be careful of blowing out the white areas and losing some detail. White is difficult to photograph while keeping the detail and still getting it white. :)

Thank you for your comments. I am posting the original photo so you can check it and let me know your thoughts and critiques. I added the lomo effect cause I thought it capture better the whites (lol). As you recall it’s tricky to photograph whites while keeping detail.
For your second question I just was trying to show the skull. I took the photo in my office and used some black carpets to make the background. It would be nice if I could take the same photo on the actual holiday (2 november) where people make altars for their people who are death.
Thanks again for your comments. I will try to keep that in mind when I shoot whites again! :)

im thinking try taking this from up above it maybe at a slight angle looking down from maybe 5 feet back that way it looks like your swooping down at the skull . just a thought lol :D
