These are pictures I took this weekend of a Portland Oragon punk band named JonnyX and the Graodies. I love to take pictures without using flash. On a higher IS0 (800-1600) and with the stabilization features on my PowerShot SD800 I can get some pretty cool shots without a tripod--even in the relative darkness at a concert. I like to take a whole bunch of shots at all sorts of settings and I am usually pleasantly surprised when I get a chance to look at them on my computer. When I was taking these shots I didn't even realize I was getting such an interesting effect from the strobe light until I got home.

All I do in Photoshop is use the reduce noise feature (here at it's very strongest) to get rid of the graininess and color saturation. I love how the reduce noise feature makes the pictures so blurry, which along with the over saturation, makes these punk scenes look very surreal.

Like the graphic effect - would be great for poster work.
