Hey all,

My first post here to DPS forums. I've been hanging out here for a while now, trying to pack my brain with as much information as possible. So far, I've learned about 100X more on these forums than through any other medium and I'm looking forward to learning more.

I started off being an astrophotography shooter ( about 3 yrs now ) but I would really like to become an all around photographer.

Looking to expand my lenses. My question: For my K10D, are the only compatible lenses for my camera the KAF2 mounts? Or, are the KAF mounts compatible as well?

I just can't seem to find a clear + defined answer. Thanks for any help

P.S. I am just loving DPS and so happy I found such a great community.

Anything from K mount (the first mount after M42) on will work. You can even do M42 with an adapter. Stuff without an A on the aperture ring will have to be used with stop-down metering, but otherwise they're fully compatible. This is one of the biggest points that draws people to Pentax DSLRs - some of that legacy glass is very sweet for wonderful prices.

if u get a m42 to k mount addaptor, make sure its a flush fit one and not a cheepo. I didn't know this and cant get infinity focus on old len's :(

yea, this is the part that confused me the most. I've seen K, KAF and KAF2 and had no idea if they were all compatible or not.

Thanks a ton guys
