I have a D50 and it said last night that I needed to charge it - CHA started blinking in the control panel - so I went to charge it and woke up this morning and it wasn't charged. So I tried cleaning the contacts and stuff but that didn't help it out any. When I attach the battery to the charger, it blinks red for a few seconds and then turns to a solid red. I've only had the camera for a little over a month. Any ideas? Thanks!

hmm ok .. its not the recalled battery then... no idea why it wont charge did you buy this D50 new or second hand..?? if new then talk to your supplier or Nikon... it maybe a dud.. if second hand I'm afraid you may have to go get a new battery .. you not have to replace it with Nikon brand there are other companies that make a Battery for D50's :)

yes I can get stuff shipped in but it takes about 2 weeks from the states for it to get here. =(
I think its the charger though and not the battery.

haha im an idiot, ok I guess the CHA doesnt mean "CHARGE" lol... Possibly "CHANGE"? I was just thinking things just seemed strange because well the charger seemed to be working cause it would stop blinking and so when I put it in the camera the battery display showed as full, so then something told me to try taking out the memory card and putting another one in.. I did and wal-la, it worked...
I'm so happy it did, otherwise like I said in the previous post I'd have been without the stuff for at least 2 weeks!!
Thanks for everything Leisa...
