Another shot from the weekend. I think the best of them.

What would you change? Do you think the road behind the skater's movement is necessary? More room for the skater to travel into? Anything composition wise? Anything lighting wise?

It's a bit dark. The subject's dark shirt blends in with the shadows of the trees, and the face is hidden in shadow a bit, too. You can probably fix it up nicely with a little post processing.

I like the composition pretty well. I like the space to either side of the subject. I think it needs a little more space as the bottom to match the space at the top. That will help that shadow (of a tree?) do more than just peek in.

What's the aperture you were using? If you open up some more it'll help tone down the sharpness of the background and still allow you to use a nice fast shutter speed to stop the motion.

It's a very nice shot. Thanks for sharing.

his face is underexposed. and yes it would be better to have room for the skater to skate into but this composition works well for this shot because it looks like he is going around a turn and is moving to the right even though he is looking left.

K-Rimes,

Per forum rules, only 1 thread is allowed in a given 24 hour period for critique/comments. Since you've already received some good replies in this thread, I'll let it slide for now.

Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the rules...

It was at f/5.6. Wishing for a faster lens, but I'm a pretty poor guy after purchasing my camera, hahaha.

Yeeeeah... The double post thing... Thought it maybe was a date thing, not a 24 hour thing. Maybe I posted that other one later than I thought last night...

Thanks for the comments. I'm just starting out, and need more time behind the lens to get some better images. Feeling like these current ones are alright, but not the most amazing.
