View Full Version : Rebel xt 72 vs. 300

This may be obvious to some, but not to me.

My camera Canon Rebel xt seems only to shoot in 72dpi...huge files that I can later convert to 300dpi for printing, but is there anyway to shoot at a higher dpi to begin with...I can't seem to find a way to adjust that.

Not in-camera. DPI is pretty arbitrary with digital anyway, since resolution is all in pixels. Only time it really comes into play is when you print, when you're making adjustments anyway.

To add to this: the DPI number you are seeing is literally arbitrary — a random number picked to be the default display setting. Pay it no mind.
